“Hats are poems.”
- Jay Cheng
Due to her relocation to Toronto, Jaycow realized she had so much stuff to unpack, a lot of which she had forgotten about. This began a reflection on her own "hoarding".
She'd been hoarding millinery materials - she'd bought so much, saved so much scrap, yet never use them.
She'd also “hoarded“ a lot of millinery techniques from attending a number of millinery events and learning from many teachers. A lot of the techniques were never transferred from the classroom to her hat creations.
This collection is a visual record of how Jaycow has breathed new life into materials, techniques and blocks that had been collecting dust in dark corners, and put them to good use.
